When Grace was eight years old playing “Boys chase the Girls” at Grant Elementary School in Richmond California, she ran into the Girl’s bathroom for safety and rest only to discover she really did need to use the facility. As she sat staring at the back of the stall door with all the etched hearts, stars and familiar childhood sayings of an innocent bygone era, a very unusual thought came into her consciousness. That thought came in the form of a question--a question she knew very few, if any, eight-year-olds were asking. It was this:
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE?
Grace’s young mind was amazed that this question had even appeared in her consciousness. Where did it come from? She was aware it had not really come from her--it had come through her. This seemed very strange. What was even more unusual was her inner knowing that there wasn’t one person with whom she could share this strange happening--not her parents, her friends out there on the playground, her Sunday School teacher, her grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins--no one.
That day, Grace’s life changed. When she walked out of that bathroom to rejoin the wailing, giggling, running girls, it was from a new awareness. Now she knew there was something bigger going on behind every scene, something huge and grand and all encompassing. It was that mysterious something that knew the answer to the question. And it was her life mission to discover it and share it with others.
She’s been working on that discovery ever since--sometimes consciously and, at other times, unconsciously. She has a million and one stories that accompany her discovery mission--too many to share here. Suffice it to say, when a new friend asked her if she was writing a book, for the first time (as others have asked the same question) she unhesitatingly replied, “Yes”. So the book is coming.
In the meantime, Grace continues to be the sharing. Interesting how she puts that--she is “being” the sharing, not doing it. The verb To Be can make a really big difference. In fact, it makes all the difference. After all, we are Human Beings. It’s interesting how the word “Being” so often is simply left out of all references to ourselves and we end up referring to ourselves as “humans” or “humanity” or the “human race” not realizing (seeing with real eyes) that we’ve omitted the most important aspect of our nature, our “Beingness”. Grace tells a funny story about when she was a high school English teacher and gave a verbal writing assignment on “What It Means To Be A Human Being” to her tenth grade class. One of her female students titled her paper “The Human Bean”. She had no concept of the word Being let alone an awareness that she was one.

Ever since Grace was a child (by a different name), people would comment about her feminine gracefulness. It was just her natural way of being; and she always thought of the word “grace” as it connected to the movement of the physical body. When she caught herself doing something clumsy, she would jokingly refer to herself as “Grace” never realizing it would be a name she would take later in her life or that it’s meaning to her would change so drastically. How Grace became her name is a story that is too long to share here; but if you ask her in person, she would love to share it.
Suffice it to say, once she opened fully to her new Spiritual name, she knew she was being called to Embody the very essence of Grace within herself and share it with every-one she encounters.
So what does “grace” mean to Grace now? It’s total and complete acceptance without judgement of everyone and everything as it exists in the present moment, the Now. Thus, the significance of the “Now” clock in the back-ground of her photo.
Grace looks at her Trainee’s Brain Wave Charts at the Biocybernaut Institute where she’s a Brain Wave Neuro Feedback Trainer. Their motto, “If you want to live high, you have to live outside of time,” explains the NOW clock.

Grace stands in a favorite section of her backyard in Yucca Valley where she and her boyfriend, Oliver, spend more money than they want to know feeding rabbits, quail, antelope squirrel, desert squirrel, blue jays and doves. MORE ABOUT GRACE’S CALL FROM DESTINY

Two years ago, Grace made a dramatic life-style change and attributes that change to two life altering events. The first event involved her work with Caroline Myss, and the second event involved her work with Dr. James Hardt at the Biocybernaut Institute. The following is a brief description of what that change entailed and how it came about.
For over thirty years, with some brief interruptions which included working with Autism in both a home and school setting and working with Brain Injury at The Betty Clooney Foundation in Long Beach, Grace has been a multi-media Artist.
She designed, made and sold a number of different products including a line of clothing she called “Slit-Slax” that featured a pair of wrap-around pants, a line of Tote Bags she called “Bad Bags,” a beautiful line of Fine Art Photos she called “Off The Wall Photography” and a line of costume jewelry she called “AnvilArtz”. At that time, Grace was known by another first name. Between 1995 and 2005, she concentrated on her “AnvilArtz” jewelry line, which she sold mainly in two locations, the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival and the Palm Desert Street Fair. Sometimes she’d take trips to Las Vegas or Arizona to do Art & Craft Shows. She was a traveling Artist who made all of her own products.
Then one day in early 2000, three months after experiencing the death of her life-mate of 28 years, dissatisfaction with that demanding life-style set in. He had been her business partner as well; and now she was doing the work all by herself. She knew she had a higher calling. She had always been very spiritual and read nothing but books about Spirit. Now, slowly but surely, the awareness that she was being called to also do Spiritual Work was dawning on her. But how was she going to make the transition? It seemed impossible. And what Spiritual Work could she do that would also pay her mortgage and monthly bills?
In January of 2002, Grace sat talking about this dilemma with a dear friend. The friend looked at her matter-of-factly and said: “You can do counseling. You counsel me all the time.” It was a magical moment--not because Grace felt that she could do counseling, that takes credentials, but because her friend saw something in her that had been there all along and somehow it was ignited by her friend’s confidence in her. Yes, there was something she could do. She didn’t know what it was but an intention to find it had been created.
Little did Grace know at the time, the something was already in place. Another dear friend had planned to take her to a Caroline Myss Workshop entitled “Living A Symbolic Life” for her birthday. Two weeks later, she was at the event and something profound happened. It was an energy experience. Grace was hit by what Caroline calls “charism”, energy from God or the Divine (whichever you prefer) that seems to ignite the soul. It’s real, it’s palpable and it comes out of nowhere and everywhere. In Eric Pearl’s book, “The Reconnection,” he specifically talks about his awareness of this energy coming through the voices of three people whom he names--one of them is Caroline Myss. Not everyone gets the rush. It seems to have something to do with intention and Grace had set hers. The divine snowball of change started to form and it was about to bulldoze right through her life.
She’d taken home a Caroline Myss Newsletter and was reading it voraciously the next Monday morning. That’s when she discovered CMED, which stands for Caroline Myss Education. In fourteen days, the first CMED Sacred Contracts group was going to meet in Chicago; and Grace knew she had to be there even after going on the website and discovering the training was “FULL”. Somehow, in her heightened state of being, that word did not apply to her. She called and spoke to Caroline’s right-hand man, David Smith. Spoke is not really the appropriate word here. She ignited him with her passion of what happened to her; and right in the middle of it, he asked if she would hold while he answered another call. You guessed it. Someone cancelled and he gave her the open seat. No waiting list, no stalling, she was in. There was only one more hurdle, the money. She really didn’t have the $3,000 it would take for the Seminar, the airfare and the lodging. She confessed she would have to come up with the money. He gave her one hour.
Two years earlier, her mother had died; and her father had remarried. Grace did not want to ask him for the money because she didn’t want to be seen as a “needy” child by his new wife. But this was too important, and she knew she could easily pay him back when she refinanced her home. So she went for it with that same awesome, on-fire energy that was still coursing through her body; and they both agreed to loan her $5,000. She went to CMED believing she had paid for the entire experience. Once she got there, she discovered she had only paid for the first of six Trainings all of which required the same tuition, airfare and lodging costs, over a period of two years. She was both shocked and amused at how she had tricked herself into attending that first Seminar knowing she never would have gone had she realized the actual cost. At the time, spending that kind of money on herself was unthinkable.
Those Trainings were exceptional. The first hit of “charism” had worn off after about four days; but now Grace knew what it felt like to be in that kind of heightened state. She knew what she was striving for, and it happened again at the end of her second Training with Caroline. She remembers sitting in the O’Hare Airport waiting for her plane during a Security Alert (it hadn’t been long since 9-11) and not feeling one iota of stress. She felt like she could sit there for the rest of eternity just watching and loving the people moving through that perfect scene.
Then came the Fourth Training and Caroline introduced the Fate/Destiny Chart. This work is about exploring your Archetypes within your Sacred Contract and learning “how to see your life through the profound realization that you, indeed, have a destiny to fulfill”. The Fate/Destiny Chart was the coup de gras of the entire Training. Caroline stated something to the effect that casting this Chart is equivalent to imploring your Angels, God, the Universe to help you move from your fate path to your destiny path; and that once you’ve made this kind of request, watch out. You know the saying: “Be careful what you wish for.” That’s the idea but a thousand times more powerful. She continued by explaining that within one year, the request would be granted, so get ready for big shifts. One of the most incredible things about Caroline is her absolute, unwavering Faith in the Divine. Grace believed her and that’s why it worked. One of her favorite personal sayings is this:
“Belief is the engine that turns the wheels of your Reality.”
Within nine months, Grace’s boyfriend walked into her house in Dana Pt., CA for their weekend get together bringing some CD’s to share that he had down-loaded from the Coast to Coast AM talk radio show. ( If you don’t know about that program, check out their website immediately because you’re missing it. It airs from 10 pm until 2 pm nightly; but for a very nominal fee you can become a stream-link member and listen anytime. Many well known and knowledgeable people from all areas of the spiritual and UFO counter culture are interviewed.)
They curled up on her couch together to listen to one of the CD’s and the divine snowball of change came whirling across the room and hit her right in the chest. The man being interviewed was Dr. James Hardt; and he was talking about his Brain Wave Neuro Feedback Training program at the Biocybernaut Institute. Grace was fascinated, but it wasn’t until Dr. Hardt said he was looking for Trainers that she felt the snowball make contact with her heart. That was it--the call of Destiny. There was absolutely no doubt in her mind that she was supposed to be one of Dr. Hardt’s Trainers.
When this happened, Grace was still traveling two hours every weekend to the Desert from the Beach to sell her jewelry at The Street Fair; but for the first time in thirty years, she had not signed up for the two-month-long summer Art & Craft Show in Laguna called The Sawdust Festival. It was all she could do that past December not to turn in her Application as she had no idea what she was going to create instead. All she knew was that if she wanted to change her life, she couldn’t keep doing the same old thing. She had to make room for the Universe to bring in something new.
She had also designed, along with another close friend, a Caroline Myss Sacred Contracts Workshop which she was teaching for the second time at the Learning Light Foundation in Anaheim. This was a labor of love rather than a money-making endeavor; but it was serving to show her she could be a Teacher of Spirit. As a trained High School English Teacher, she knew she could teach, but teaching school compared to sharing her Spiritual knowledge was a very different cat.
What’s important to realize here is that without any one part of all the forgoing experiences, the end result could not have happened. An energy continuum formed, and Grace had to go through it step by step to get to the next level. That energy continuum is still forming, and she is still walking it even as this description of her experiences are being written. This concludes the first life-altering event.
